"it starts and runs great righ

"it starts and runs great right away. after i run it and it sits for an hour or so it is hard to start again and once started it will idle but when i rev it up it misses and cuts out. i can usually get it to rev up in neutral with some convincing but it will always cut out in gear when gas is given. i rebuilt the carbs but that made no difference. i runs perfect when cold, just wont get going once it has been run and sits for a while. any ideas? thanks in advance."

Hello, I have a 2001 Johnson 175hp that does the same thing. I haven't been able to figure it out, but the motor runs fine till you shut it off, then it will not idle. I hope somebody knows or has ideas. Thanks"

"I have the same problem. What I do is hit the neutral button and put it in gear then start it in high idle. Works like a charm. How to fix it, not a clue. It has the same problem when I start it in neutral. Won't hardly start if at all."
