"Oops...I meant '96 Intruder.....I have had the heat sensor on the right side of the block "pop" or melt twice now. It only seems to happen when I idle for a while or while trimmed up. Water pressure seems fine all the time and "peeing" is good.

Could there be a partial blockage somewhere on that side that is limiting water from making it up to that side???

Any suggestions appreciated...

My guess is the impeller if over 5 years old. I am not sure as I bought the boat from a lady whose husband had died so she had no records.

I am thinking I will replace the water pump impeller and see if that takes care of the problem. It probably needs replacing regardless.

Hey Jim...I agree the water pump needs to be replaced...OMC recommends every year or 100 hrs...every two years has worked well for me...That should sovle the problem...

"Hey Jim...Sorry for the delay

"Hey Jim...Sorry for the delay in answering....By all means, get the service manual for your year and model..Not to bad of a job if manual is followed..."
