" I rebuilt and cleaned my car
" I rebuilt and cleaned my carbs this weekend. On my test drive I could tell that my engine now seems to idle smoother and I think starts easier. It was dieing when opened up. Now it doesn't die as easily but it sounds like it's bogging and gurgling for a couple seconds then it takes off harder than ever before. It also reached 5,500 rpm's for the first time since I had it. I figured floats so I lowered them just a tad. Nothing scientific about my setting them just a little lower and uniform for all four. I wasn't able to take it back out but it still seems to be bogging and now dies on flushette after idling for about 30 seconds. I noticed that my fuel filter appears to get empty in this time frame and I have to pump up the bulb. If I pump it when it starts to die it keeps running. Is this a bad fuel/oil pump? I checked all my lines and hoses and they look new. Does my onboard tank use a sock at the pickup? It's a 20' SeaArk and I don't have a manual yet. Any thoughts are always welcome. (Hi again Joe?)
Thanks,
