Hello again guys. Not new to boating or this forum. Just been awhile w/different boat now. My motor is dripping oil on the very back of the boat. Looking at the oil resivor, I have an open hole in the top that looks like a splash\drain hose would attach. I can only imagine that at idle when the Merc is shaking, that oil is splashing through this hole. The foam in the cowl is soaked. Am I missing a hose? Did the previous owner over fill it? I wouldn't figure this would be normal. I guess oil splashing around the block would be better than salt water! Will take pictures if needed. Thanks in advance fellas!"

Thanks JB. I'm missing bot

Thanks JB. I'm missing both #9 and #10. I'm going to look in the bottom of the housing to see if they are rolling around in there. Should I not run the engine with out the check valve? Thanks!

"I would guess the check valve

"I would guess the check valve lets air into the tank as the oil leaves, and keeps the oil from sloshing out."
