"Hello guys,

My Selco manu

"Hello guys,

My Selco manual gives Idle timing BTDC @ 4 deg. ATDC to 2 deg. BTDC. Also, it lists a MAX BTDC Cranking @ 22 deg. BTDC.

My question is, which one should I use to set timing while cranking with starter only? I assume that idle timing would be set under load in forward/idle speed.
One more dumb question: ATDC is to the left of the 0 on the fly wheel gauge while BTDC is to the right of 0 right? (0 Being TDC right?)Its been years from the last time I set timing on anything.

According to my light, my idle timing on land w/muffs is @ 15 Deg. ATDC. I know that can't be right.

Thanks again }for any help!!!!!!!!!"

"Brandon, you got her backward

"Brandon, you got her backwards.

The flywheel rotates clockwise, so everything to the left is "before".

And at "cranking speed" you set the max timing to 22 degress btdc.
