b93 Merc 150 electricalstarter problems

I went to take my boat out tod

I went to take my boat out today after not starting it for a couple weeks. When i turned the key I just got a loud buzzing sound coming out of the starter solenoid. I tried it on both batteries and still the same thing. I was also stupid and tried to short across the starter and solenoid to try to get it to go...that caused an arc..not sure if I did any damage there.
After trying different things and attempting to start it a few times...I went to tilt the engine up and the tilt/trim doesn't work now (it worked when I started). When I attempt to tilt/trim it just makes a clicking sound that sounds like it comes from a different place when trying to tilt in the up direction than from where it comes from when I tilt in the down direction......please help!
 
Check all your battery connect

Check all your battery connections to be sure they are shiny clean and tight. Charge the batteries and try again.

"Well, I took the battey out to clean the connections and found that my battey switch was very corroded and that the common post was totally corroded off...thanks for the help..turned out it was pretty simple......"
