"I inherited my Dad's 1990 17' Boston Whaler with an 85hp Johnson outboard. Last weekend, put on a new battery, I changed the plugs and used a plastic gas can and the motor started right up. This weekend I filled up one of the metal 12gal cans and it ran for a little while (10 min)then cut off, could not get it started again. I checked and changed all four plugs, I check the fuel filter and it had some trash in it. Changed back to the plast fuel tank and still nothing. It turns over strong but just wont crank. The motor is a 1989 Sea Horse, with low hours. The boat has been in storage since 1997 and has not seen water in a long time. What can the problem be. What do I need to change or look for. Thanks for your help"

Also what is "re-sinc"? I also am having new drive lines etc put on. I am going to get rid of the metal 12 gal tanks and buy some plastic ones."
