b89 90hp stalls at start up

"Background: Bought this boat

"Background: Bought this boat with 1989 90hp sat for two years and wasnt winterized. I can get it to start right up with 4-6 pumps on the key and it stays running if I keep pumping the key. If I stop pumping the key she stalls within a few secs. I ran a can of OMC carb cleaner/engine cleaner thru it and let it sit all night, STILL STALLING.

Could the carbs still be clogged, could the VRO be bad?

What should I check

"if holding the key in keeps the engine running, the VRO is probably fine. It sounds like the carbs are fouled. They would need to be disassembled and cleaned out. adding a bottle of cleaner to the fuel tank is not going to fix them.

"thank you , plan on a tear down this weekend. where are the low speed jets at, the manual says right above the high, looking at the carbs on the motor i dont see them

any other tricks to the rebuild?"
 
I highly recommend you purchas

I highly recommend you purchase a service manual. It will save you a lot of headaches in the end. I learned the hard way!!
