"i would think so,...but i'm not 100%--are u trying to sw gears...that has been done,but i dont recommend it...if its a great eng,get the new parts u need ,if avail...or a mach shop can rebuild gear,clutch dog area...but,it'd have to be a good 'un before i'd spend much on it."

No, the deal is, i have found a (looks like new) bronze prop to use, but is LH rotation. Just thought about running in rev gear to go forward?? AND that gear don't get much use anyway, and needs the exercise. ANYWAY, like I said, just a thought. I'll bet no one has come up with that yet. Think about twin eng install. Don't need anything fancy. Just change props, put 1eng in fwd n 1 in rev, w/lh prop n off you gooooo!

"Not sure how the gearcase will handle your idea, but if an engine has an anti kick up in reverse..it will be ingaged in your forward...could be a problem if you hit something as motor will be locked in the down position. By by lower end...or worse yet by transom and engine...lol"
