Have just purchased a Windboat

Have just purchased a Windboat Pearly Monarch an aluminium sports/day boat manufactured in the 60's here in Norfolk (UK). I believe the engine to be a VOLVO B18B. It has twin Zenith Stromberg carbs and a number cast into the block (4968) and seven more stamped alongside (07 14516) Can ayone
a) confirm that this is indeed a Volvo B18B? and
b) point me in the right direction for a replacement fuel pump. At the moment the engine's fuel is pumped by a remote electric pump that is a mish mash of rubber hose and jubilee clips that are an accident about to happen.

Any info gratefully received by this UK newbie to petrol (gas!) engines.

Thank you

"Further to the above post, fuel pump located at a Volvo classic car dealer here in UK. I have now discovered a serial number on the leg, "PZ NR 30576" I presume that this is the serial number for the leg. Is there any way that I can translate this serial number to a leg model number? Any help gratefully received.

Thank you"

"Looks like your engine could be an AQ110 or an AQ120A, in which case the base engine would be a Volvo B18.

Go to this link

http://www.volvo.com/volvopenta/global/en-gb/marine_leisure_engines/engines/out_of_production_engines/out_of_production_engines.htm

and under "engine type", type AQ110 or AQ120A. You will be sent to a page which has the basic description for your engine and links to some literature including brochures and operator's manuals.

Not sure how easily you could get one of those fuel pumps in today's day and age. Perhaps the pump for the AQ115A (B20 engine) will fit? Here is a link, see if you recognize it or if a Volvo Penta dealer can cross-reference it. Once you have identified it, you can check for availability new or used.

PS. It seems you are based int he UK, so if you cannot open the link, try connecting via a proxy server."

"That info was very useful. Many thanks. Have downloaded operators manual and will have fun reading through its fifty-six pages BEFORE starting any work on the unit.

No doubt I'll be back before long with a host of other questions.

Again, my eternal thanks."
