b 88 70hp Johnson will a b77 75hp stinger Lower Unit fit it

"I have been trying like crazy to figure this out.. seems like the 70/75 is the same except for the carb, but I can't figure out if the lower unit from this older outboard would work.

1988 70hp Johnson (Needs lower unit)
Found 1977 75hp Johnson Lower unit..

This is for a friend who has just bought the boat, and trying to give him a hand.

I don't mind doing some footwork to figure this out, if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
