auto start wiring on solenoid help needed

after having issues with the 50 hp 4 stroke mariner i recently got turned out the carbs were filthy i got them cleaned by a outboard mechanic my question is the auto start on the outboards wiring on the solenoid. where should the wires be connected too as a mechanic said if this has been placed on the wrong terminal the choke will remain open. he said the engine should run fast for a while then i would notice it slowing down as the choke closed i have not heard it do this but she is idling far too fast and i didn't get a chance to adjust the idle screw as the loch was rather choppy yesterday.at present the solenoid has 2 wires on each terminal the first 2 being the starter but i am sure the mechanic said to me there should only be the 1 on 1 side. i have not taken these wires off but someone else could have in the past anyone know the correct wiring set up here thanks in advance
