I have a 2000 J70plss that will not run over 4000 rpm with any prop pitch!!!! I have cleaned carbs, fuel system,replaced fuel lines, spark plugs, nothing helped at all. when i connect a timing light to it the timing is jumping between 4degrees btdc and 4 atdc and im sure that under a load it is retarding the timing hence the condition. i have tried a new power pack and condition remains the same... if anyone has experienced this and can help i would appriciate it... im thinking the timer base but throwing parts can be costly!!! thanks
