"FloScan, Navman, Lowrance are they all the same. Does one do a better job then the other? The prices are all over the place. I'm not looking for a lot of bells and whistles I just need to know how many GPH I'm using. I've read about them none seem to say water proof. Right now I don't have a top so my dash is open to the elements. Any ideas?"

Ford vs. Chevy vs. Mopar....(And now Honda vs. Toyota vs. etc.)

Take your pick. Each brand has its adherents and detractors.

Love my Flo Scan and have had very good tech support and service. To me that's really important.

"flo-scan, here, too. 16 years

"flo-scan, here, too. 16 years on it and it has lasted longer than all my gauges except for the tachs. Though I have a hard top on it, it sees the soap and water every washdown. Once dialed in, it hasn't missed a beat (except when the selector switch corroded).

The newer stuff appears to be mostly networked based and usually has 'multi-function' capabilities.

If you wants the basics, go with the economy model that has functions that meet your needs. i can't vouch for their fuel flow sensors but the northstar and lowrance insturments I've had were just fine."

"We have both a FloScan 5500 series and the Garmin GFS10. The Floscan has been flawless as has the Garmin. being networked and attached to the cpu in the plotter/gps, the data yield is terrific. All automatically compiled and accurate as heck. I don't think you could be dissapointed either way."
