AQ290 Seals face each other, Huh?

I am reassembling the pivot assembly for the water tube, Intermediate Housing to H bracket. In the service manual it says to put the needle bearing seals in facing each other so as to seal out water and keep the grease inside.
My interpretation of that is that the rubber seal faces outward from both ends and the metal ring side faces in toward the needle bearing.

Help me out here before I ruin two seals.

I am pretty sure the spring part of the seals face toward each other that puts the flat part faceing away from the needle bearing. Wait and get confirmation from Ricardo before pressing them in! Thats the way I see it in my book also same diagram.

You know, when you look at the seal and think about how water pressure pushing against it and grease pushing out, it would appear to me that the rubber part should face out because the water pressure pushing against the rubber would cause it to press against the pivot tube and make a better seal against water entering. But this would be contrary to the shop manuals description

Just my opinion
