Hey Ricardo,

Do you have any full size pictures of your homebuilt 290 Prop shaft removal tool?
I cant seem to blow up the thumbnails big enough to read them for materials and assembly.

Thank you very much for all your help.

Ricardo,

Thanks for the advice on getting the prop shaft and carrier bearing assembly out of the lower unit. Heat is definitely your friend for this purpose again. I set it up and applied constant heat to both sides of the lower case and kept applying pressure to the nuts against the plate. It was a bear but finally cam out. The was alot of corrosion inside the case between the first and second "o" rings, but nothing past the inner one. Glad I pulled it cause the seals looked shot. The second unit cam apart very easy. Cleaned them up and reassembled both units already.
Attached are some pictures of my work so far. They are ready for paint now.
These are both AQ290 early version drives with the anchorage plate and reverse lock assembly.
Working on the transmissions now.
Thanks again,

Kevin
