AQ255A overheating

i have a 1977 aq 255a with 280

i have a 1977 aq 255a with 280 outdrive with closed cooling system got stuck in mud. eng. heats up water not circulating through outdive. what do i have to do to get out the mud so it will not heat up. any ideas about the situation would be appreciated.

"I would add that you could also consider removing the raw water pump impeller, the replace the cover and backflush with fresh water all the way from the heat exchanger to the outdrive, even if you have to open the suction line in several places. Then, make sure you also flush the exhaust manifolds, risers and Y-pipe."
