"I notice that there are what appears to be two vent holes on top/bottom of Raw Water Pump, between O ring and impeller. The bottom one drips constantly when the engine is running. If I block the lower vent, the upper one leaks. Can someome explain what should be happening, or is this normal? Thanks VM"

"I believe these are tell-tale holes, and they are there to prevent any leaks from the pump seal to reach the bearing and the engine crankcase and to "tell" you that it is time to overhaul your pump and install new seals."
