AQ170 Oiler Cooler Unit Water Intake

Good afternoon,
What is supposed to keep the oil cooler water intake pipe seated into the oil cooler casting? The previous owner cut the copper intake pipe leaving only a snub of pipe which is connected to a hose. The only thing holding the pipe snub in place is a mess of sealant globbed on top of the casting. The snub tends to pop out when I flush the system with a garden hose. It's problem waiting to happen sometime while I'm using the boat.

Thanks,
Mark

Its a VP thing - on my AQ150 they are inserted with a bit of marine grease which seems to do the trick if surfaces are clean. Would have thought you need the correct copper piping tho' to make it work - these are available at times on eBay as well.

I had a AQ130 with the same setup except the copper piping held everything together. After I get the correct oring I'll be able to keep the pipe snub in place by anchoring it to the block. Lucky for me there's an unused threaded hole (9/16") in the block just below the oil cooler.

Thanks for the info on the oring.
Mark
