"Hi guys, I have some questions about the fuel pump on the AQ170 engine.I take it that this is a mechanical pump that runs off a cam in the engine but how does the hand primer lever work? Does it need several pumps to prime the carbs? Does the lever need to be in a certain position for fuel to feed? I bought the boat with the tank empty and she won't start unless I pour fuel directly into the carbs....not the safest thing to do I know. I only have about 10 gallons in a 40-50 gallon tank, do I need more fuel to increase pressure to the pump? Where is the fuel filter in this model? I looked at the online manual and the Clymer's that came with the boat but I have more questions than answers now...."
