AQ151A, Cylinder head. confused about torque..

Hi, first post here.. boat with a AQ151A in it,
Replacing the head gasket and bolts, the Volvo manual says
1: 20nm
2: 40nm
3: 120 degrees.

The instructions that came with the new head bolts say;
1: 20nm
2: 40nm
3: 60nm,
4: loosen 90 degrees,
5: 60nm
6: 90 degrees.

Do they differ in specs cause of the bolts are new? the head gasket and bolts are from a automotive equivalent.
 
Hmmm that's a conundrum. The first instructions are pretty standard Volvo/Volvo Penta. The next set isn't an unheard way of torquing head bolts but is it necessary? Maybe the more experienced mechanics can weigh in.
