"Just completed putting head back on after get no 4 welded.Replace exhaust manifold that was corroded.started motor after a few trys and found that I had to move distrubutor all the way towards the front of the engine to get it starting good, but there is no more adjustment for me to move distributor anymore.I marked the cam gear that fits onto the cam before taking it apart and am wondering ,why did i have to move the distributor to it full ajustment to get it running ok.i havent put a timing light on it to see where it is at the moment but it seems to me that i have to move it a little more to get it running nice.my question is do you think that something has moved when reinstalling and can i take the distributor out a move it one tooth forward to be able to have the adjustment i require to adjust the timing to what may be the standard timing matk.havent taken it for a water trial as yet will do that tomorrow.just wanted to check just in case i can do some damage when i take it to high revs.any help will be appreciated."
