The rear carb was constantly p

The rear carb was constantly putting out gas through the acceleration nozzle. Also the main fuel nozzle was putiing out more gas than the front carb. Rebuilt both carbs. Put in new needle and float shut off valves. The floats seemed to be in good shape. Made all the adjustments on the needle valve and the idle screw the the book said to do. The rear carb still does the same thing. Any thing else to look at?

"I saw two different kits online. One only has some gaskets for about $24 and the other has more gaskets and a new needle valve, float valve and an accelerator pump gasket. I got the latter and paid about $50 for each. I later saw it online for about $38."

"Gary, you may have to readjust the accelerator pump and make sure the rod, spring, etc are all free (not sticking or seized). See if there are any differences in the way the accelerator pump in set in the forward carb when compared with the aft.

I am unsure if the carb kits contain some settings regarding the float height adjustment, as both Seloc and Clymer are silent about that."

"There was not any setting on the floats. They just slide up and down in the slot. The top section of the carb has two pins that come down on each side of the float to hold it in position. I checked the accelerator pumps when I put them back in for freedom of movement and they seemed to be working okay. Whatever the cause is, it's also causing the main fuel jet to put out more than the other carb. I tried to adjust it with the needle valve, but it didn't seem to affect it."

"Have you checked how high is the fuel pressure at the pump? It should be 2-4 PSI.

Also, have you synchronized the carbs?"
