Hi all first post for me.I have an aq140 A and at anything upto 3500 rpm stays nicely in the green.If i push her to 4500 and crusie at 4400 rpm she creeps up and just touches the red zone on temp gauge is this ok.Also if i slow down quickly from 4400 to say 1500 rpm she spews water out the cap on the heat exchnager very annoying the cap is 4lb pressure not sure if its right cap and volvo wont some expensive price for a blooming cap!!any light on the mater much apprecited...

"Insert 50/50 coolant. Check auto parts for a 4 pound cap (Stant, etc). Check water pumps, intake strainer and oil cooler. Check gooseneck and hose on outdrive for corrosion/air leak."

Hi all I have just bought a new cap lowest I could get was 7lb fitted tested and all ok.I did change the coolant for a new antiboil 50/50 mix dunno whetehr that really makes that much differance or not.Volvo mechanic here reconed that the cap is set at 4psi as the seals which join the expansion tank to the heat exchanger on the tube if you know where i mean dont tolerate much pressure thats all...
