"Worked on the boat for a whil
"Worked on the boat for a while finally got it to start, checked the timing and it was about 6 degrees as the manual stated. Took it out and ran fine at idle and low rpm, once I got beyond the no wake zone and throttled up, it started to backfire? pushed the throttle all the way and it cleared, but anytime I increased speed it would backfire, is this a slight adjustment of the dist? or do I need to do this under load while in the water? I just want it to run smooth with no back firing. My original problem turned out to be a seized timing tensioner which caused the belt to jump teeth. Thanks. Dennis"
