I have twin AQ131C engines with standard point/condenser ignition. Starboard engine has on occasion stalled at low RPM after running normally for hours, restarted after a 5-10 minute waiting (cool down?) period. Never stalls if I connect a jumper wire from the battery positive terminal to coil "+" terminal.
In troubleshooting this problem I've discovered that the resistance across the resistor wire between the alternator and coil for the 2 engines is not the same. Port engine resistor wire measures 42 ohms; starboard, 65 ohms.
Does anyone know what the correct value for the resistor wire is, and what the tolerance is before one should replace it?
