Aq131a starter

Almost new starter (less than 50 starts) click - click - click... eventually spinning - WHEN COLD. Spins perfect (first try) - WHEN HOT.

If no warranty you need to isolate the problem. Solenoid or Starter? Put a test light on the big wire or post comming out of the solenoid, the one going to the starter, not comming from the battery. Hit the key to start and it should light, if it doesn't the solenoid has a dead spot in the cone. If power is there the starter is at fault.
