AQ131A engine wiring question

I'm trying to figure out where the black wire connects to as I reassemble my engine. I think it connects to one of the poles on the breaker switch but am not sure. I've looked at wiring diagrams, but I'm an electrical idiot and am not sure what it shows.

While I'm at it, I'd also like to ask about the wiring of the breaker switch itself. One wiring diagram shows that it has a plus and minus pole but I can find no markings of any kind that would indicate that. Anybody know? Thanks.

Do you mean black cable... as in the cable that the white arrow is pointing towards????

If so, "black" was the color used for all Negatives years ago.
If it is black, it will be a Negative cable!

Smaller size wires (red Positive conductor) will connect to the red button Cole Hersee circuit breaker.

The red button Cole Hersee circuit breaker is a protective device.... not a work load power consuming device.
If a Positive and Negative was fed to this circuit breaker, it would immediately trip!

I'd say NO.
you need to find the other end of the wire first.
in the picture it looks like it is connected to RED

I'm now pretty sure that the black wire connection I'm trying to figure out is actually a ground connection...not to the block but is sandwiched between the black fuse holder bracket and the fuse housing itself.

Wiring diagrams show that the wire is supposed to be a ground...it just doesn't show where it grounds. But based on photos and second hand evidence that's what I'm going to go with. Wish me luck when I turn the key.
