"I have a Volvo Penta AQ131 with SP CD Trim. The outdrive will trim up ok, but slowly drops back down. While driving the boat, I am contimuously trimming up from -4 to 0 or +2.

Is there a way to tell or isolate whether it is the pump or the pistons causing the problem?

Any ideas? Also, a line on these replacement parts (used, preferably) would be helpful, as would part numbers.

With the boat out of the water

With the boat out of the water dry the piston off then cycle it up and down a few times and check for fluid leaking out of piston cylinder if no leakage is present the pump may be getting blowby and letting the piston creep.
