AQ131 carb baffle plates

I'm referring to the plates going between the carb and manifold. The manual is not really clear, as I'm reading it, about how these are to be aligned. There is a "front" marking and an arrow at 90 degrees to that. Is the arrow supposed to point to the front of the engine?

BTW, I'm surprised by the absence of any choke or other cold enrichment provision on these Solex carbs. (The twin carb version apparently does have something on the rear carb). Do people find this works out OK?

I have twin solex om my AQ151,neither carb has anything in the way of choke or enrichment,I have no problems,I suggest taking them baffles and chucking them,they are only gonna restrict airflow.
