"Hi,
Happy New Year for all of you.

I am refitting all boat interior and want to install hot shower.
Does anybody know that Water Heater - Calorifier can impact in some way "engines life time"?

My aq131 there 24 years old and like for now works fine. Is this expanded water system can mess with engine?

All new Calorifiers have got two sources to heat up water, first from engine cooling water second from Shore Power (immersion heater).
I could use only shore power to heat up fresh water but if it doesnt have any impact on engines side why dont use engine heat?

Advice needed please ;)

"Sebastian,

"Sebastian,

Not sure i understand the question, but they use two sources of heat - shore power and hot engine coolant. No impact on engine life, by the way... as the hot engine coolant just circulates through a heat exchanger in the hot water heater.
You could use only shore power, but i don't know why you would want to of you have running engines."

"MistaHays, thank you for info

"MistaHays, thank you for info, you did answer for my question

Is there any special way to fill up this system with liquid? obviously I have to increase volume of coolant to fill up pipes and calorifiers coil.

"1. if you have fresh water co

"1. if you have fresh water cooling you will have to use that circuit to warm the heater and consequently you would add antifreeze in your system to keep the level right. Maybe you would want to "air" the system too, like at home. If you use raw water cooling, just hook it up and run, it will just circulate
2. If you mean the running tap water, just pour the warm faucet until water comes out, then the heater is filled."

How big is the water pressure

How big is the water pressure created by water pump?
Calorifier will be circa 9 meters away from engine and 1m higher then engine.
Is it not to far to push water thruu?
