"My two AQ130c with 270 legs idle just fine but when i place the port engine gear shift from neuteral to forward or reverse the engine simply stalls. Iv increased the idle speed to (from 800 - 1200 rpm)to see if that helps but no joy. The boat has been out of the water since Nov while i replaced exhaust elbows, gear cables, head gaskets and countless other things. What would my best course of action be to find the route cause of this stalling when going into gear? Would timing have any bearing on it ? Any pointers please boys ?"

"Put it in gear and give it a short 'kick' on the starter (disconnect the no start in gear swith if You have).
If engine turns almost normal, probably an engine problem. If engine does not turn: Drive problem.
Or try just to put it in gear and turn over the engine by hand.
Do this with both engines, that will give You a reference.
Pull plug cable off in center of coil so it does not start!"

"Thanx Morten think iv sorted it now...Adjusted the timming and although the idle is running a little high (1,000 rpm) it goes into gear now. I just need to sort out the idle."
