AQ125B timing belt trouble

When i first got the boat the

When i first got the boat the timing belt was walking to the outside and it was eating away at the belt. Well i was told the belt was just old so i ordered a new one and put it on there and now the same thing is happening. It is walking out very slowly and all the pulleys are in good shape and there isnt any slack in the idler pulley. Anyone know how to stop it from walking out or where i can get an idler pulley from?

Second, make sure the idler is keeping the right tension. The Seloc manual explains how to install it.

el this timing belt is still walking out it has the right tension on it and the plates are in the correct place. Do you think that the idler pulley is bad? it doesnt have any slack in the bearing and it looks like its in good condition? What else could it be?

and the camshaft pulley also has two guide plates

then it is kept under tension by the tension pulley 14 and spring 13.

If it is correctly installed, it should not walk out of the pulleys. An indication of the correct tension is that you can twist the belt about 90º on the longest length between pulleys (right side of the above picture) by grabbing it with your thumb and index fingers. If this is not the case, set the tension pulley correctly. Get the Seloc or Clymer manuals if you are not sure of how to do it."
