Aq125a Head Replacement

I have a bad head on my boat so I picked up another engine with the same head casting number. What I am wondering is the cam that is in the new to me head is a L cam will that work for my AQ125a or?? The head was pulled off a car(Fuel injector ports were filled with silicone) and put on a marine engine, the guy I got it from put a 4.3 l in his boat he said it was to slow for him.

I am wondering if this setup will work before I take it to the machine shop or if I need to pull the cam out of my old head which is still on the boat.

Marine cam is a different animal than an auto cam. You won't have the same power band. I know for sure the 'A' cam is for the single carb OHC. There is one other but you will have to research that. There are also two cams that are ground for the dual carb set up.
