Aq125a coils keep burning out

I have a 83 renkin with as vol

I have a 83 renkin with as volvo aq125a that I have replaced the points with pertonix ignition and put a flame thrower 3ohm epoxy coil in this is my second year running them and about two weeks ago the coil burned out .I replaced with a new one (flame thrower agin) and it burned out yesterday. I have a new one on the way does anyone know what could be burniing these out
 
Do you leave the ignition swit

Do you leave the ignition switch on after you stop the engine? That would ruin your Pertronix module and/or the coil.

"After you turn the key off, check for voltage on the +ve side of the coil to ground. You may have developed a faulty ignition switch. This, however, should be obvious as other switched services should also be on."
