"Hi gang I've been reading

"Hi gang I've been reading all I can about the aq125 on this site.
My boat runs a little warm. 200F at 3-3.5k rpm, Which is where the thermostat fully opens. It will raise to 210 maybe 220 with a heavy load ( 4-5 people and gear) at 4.2k. I am going to pull it out of the water this week end and try to isolate the problem.

These are things I've checked or serviced. New fan belt, water pump impeller looks good. I need to check if I am sucking air thorough the intake pipe. Could it just need a new gasket?Or should I replace the intake fitting? The exhaust manifolds are galvinized, and the original owner kept it in the Columbia River.
(fresh water)

One more thing. Paris Rhone 50 amp alternator is not always putting out 13-14 volts. If I rev the engine a few times the charge comes back and will stay until I shut it off. The next time I start it it may need to be revved again.. I'm guesing it must be the brushes? Much trouble to replace?

"I would check to make sure all the water passages are clear from the outdrive, through the impeller and out the exhaust. The water neck on the outdrive must have a good seal. The impeller must be in good shape, and the exhaust manifold needs to be clear.
As for the alternator, sounds like a connection issue with the regulator. I would make sure the wire at the regulator is clean and secure. If it is, you might want to have it checked.And possibly replace it."
