AQ120c Fuel Filter/Timing

Hello -
First off I would like to thank everyone who has helped me with my first few issues with my boat. As a first time boat owner, this forum has been extremely helpful and I appreciate the input given. I have successfully diagnosed and fixed an overheating issue and drive gear issue that I would not have been able to do without you guys.
Next issue - trying to figure out what fuel filter this motor uses. Pulled the old one, and all numbers and ID marks are illegible. Its an AQ130c, 270 out. I am not so much concerned with the smaller in-line filter as it is easier to find a compatible match.
Additionally, I would like to check the timing - does anyone have a diagram/procedure that they could share? Parts of my service manual are a little beat up and I am having trouble reading the necessary info.

Thanks again
patrick

First off, I don't know what fuel filter is present but I would be installing a fuel /water seperator kit such as a Sierra 18-7983-1. With this you can eliminate all others. Next warm the engine up and retouque the head to 65 following the book. Set the valves at 20 and 22. This will get you caught up and now mess with the timing if needed. Check the advance weights/springs and make sure they function properly and it would be a great time to put a new set of points in, they're cheap Robert Bocsh points, don't go buying V/P points, the $3.00 pair at the auto store work fine. Throw those in and set the gap to 16 and time it at 8 BTC. I back the timing off 2 now days because of the GREAT fuel we have.

Thanks Gary.
Will look to get the fuel/water separator.
The points were replaced with electronics sometime in the boat's life, but i will check the other items you mentioned
