Gas GM 350 won't shut down

Gas GM 350 won't shut down when I turn off key.
Tested back of Ign. switch. put test light on Pos. coil. test light stays on when key is off.
Engine runs. Test light goes off when engine is choked off. Is there a relay for 12v. start? can it be stuck closed. The feed must be coming from the alternator. What do I look for? The Tuna are biting and I gotta get in the water! Thanks

"If your alternator is a 3-wire, it is probably backfeeding. You will likely need either a resistor (about 75 ohm) or a diode installed in series with the purple wire that goes from the ignition coil to the field exciter in the alternator."
 
When the fusable link failed l

When the fusable link failed last trip I replaced it with one from the Auto Parts Store.
That's when the problem started. It must have been a resistor not a fusable link. Thanks much

what is the function of 1 1/2 in. round black plastic device screwed to aluminum plate and bolted to engine with bell housing bolt. Two wire inside and a strange round piece of metal between the two wires.Wires lead to conector between the Distributor and Coil?

I bolted it back on and plan to fish this weekend. Ill snap a pic. next week. It must be a sensor.Thanks for the response.
