"This might not be any help, but I burned out my coil once leaving the ignition on, points closed, overnight.

I have a bunch of old junk Volvos around here and I finally lifted the hood of an old 122, and saw a bright blue Bosch aftermarket coil. It has worked fine on my AQ131 for the last 2 years.

You need a 3 ohm coil with int

You need a 3 ohm coil with internal resistor.
