"Distingushed members of the forum, I have a 86 bayliner capri that does not engage the flywheel I recently have had my starter rebuilt the it has engage twice but usally just the starter motor turning without resistance any help would be apperciated also if some one could tell me which what color is the (sol. wire, bat wire, and ign wire) that too would be greatly apperciated thanks SAM"

"Download the operator's m

"Download the operator's manual for your engine, then go to page 13 (23) for the wiring diagram. The wire to the starter solenoid is red/yellow, the one for the battery is red, and the ignition is purple.

IMO, the symptoms you describe are consistent with a sticky/faulty Bendix (clutch assembly) or a faulty starter solenoid (mechanical side). If you are mechanically inclined, the Seloc repair manual covering your engine model does have a good description of your starter."

"Or even low too low amperage

"Or even low too low amperage (voltage drop).
Attach a voltmeter to the starter (B+) and ground and check the voltage when cranking.
Might be a bad connection or a bad battery. If voltage drops below 10,5, You may be in trouble."
