Any mid-late 90's OMC motor owners?

Hey guys,

Im looking at picking up a 97 Evinrude 6hp kicker and wondering if that year of motors had any major issues or were pretty solid reliability wise?

If it is a 2 strk motor it is a great little motor. I would absolutely buy one. If it is a 4 strk pretty much the opposite ,hard to find parts and no factory support.

Ok. Yes it is a 2 stroke. Anything I should particularly be looking out for?

Test driving it would be the best. I would at least want to hear it run maybe have a mechanic check it out and change the waterpump.

Yeah I'm going to see it test run. Are these "newer" 2 stroke evinrudes just as easy to work on as the older ones?
