Any Idea Why?

Ran the boat today and it ran just great, when I brought it in and ran the engine to flush it out I touched the top of the distributor where the wires are connected and got wacked with a shock, any reason why?.

Why? because there's lot's of high voltage just millimeters away! How old are your wires and caps?

Caps 3 years, wires I have the boat 10 years and I never changed them.

Where was your other hand when you touched the wires?

FWIW: I have changed the wires at least every 3 years and the caps ususally every year .. no more than 2 yrs

I think resting on the engine but really I'm not sure any way I will order new Plug wires for both engines tomorrow, one thing I left out don't know if it's important it's a EST electrical system.
