Any idea what this fits?

I got this at a bottom of an auction box and it is part number 590362. I will appeal to anyone with near infinite knowledge of vintage outboards. Historically six digits is Johnson or Evinrude. This is in absolutely perfect condition throughout and also inside the bore.
I tried getting hold of Thomas Evinrude, the grandson of Ole, but he passed away in 2023 at the age of 91 and so maybe his son, Thomas, is my next contact attempt....if someone here doesn't recognize the part. Tom was quite the great outdoorsman.

Thanks, Tim

Thanks Racer I will give that a try. Not too many "young" fellas like me work on this stuff anymore.

Okay here is my post. We will see if anybody comes through to help. I had to register and all that. Seems like a good group of folks.

Cylindrical opening: Likely for a pipe or port—could be where exhaust gases exit or air/fuel enters.
• Rectangular opening: Suggests a passage for gases, possibly connecting to a manifold or throttle body.
• Bolt holes at corners: Indicates it's designed to be mounted securely to another engine part.
• Material and wear: The metal and signs of use suggest it's been exposed to heat and pressure, typical of engine components.
That second part you’re holding looks like a cylinder head or intake manifold component from a small marine outboard motor—likely from the same vintage family as the recoil starter you showed earlier.

this part is indeed from a marine outboard motor, and more specifically, it appears to be a recoil starter assembly used in vintage Johnson or Evinrude outboards, possibly from the early 1950s era. The part number 590382 matches listings for a recoil assembly used on 5hp Montgomery Ward Sea King motors, which were manufactured by OMC (Outboard Marine Corporation) under the Johnson/Evinrude umbrella.
