"We assume that you have a ignition switch with the following marked terminals.

Raised M, Regular M, B, A, C, and S. If not, what do you have?

What colors are the wires?"

Ok I have 6 wires #1 Red with purple stripe #2 Yellow with red #3 Black with Yellow #4 Black with white #5 purple #6 purple with white......... On the back of the switch I have B A S C M between B&A and M between B&S Thanks to everyone........

Red/Purple__: "B" &#40

Red/Purple__: "B" (Battery) 12 volt source.

Yellow/Red__: "S" (Solenoid) Activates Starter Solenoid when key is in the START position.

Black/Yellow: "M" (Magneto) Raised boss "M" Terminal. Leads to Kill Circuit of Powerpack.

Black/White_: "M" (Magneto) Regular "M" Terminal. Are you sure this wire is Black/White and not just plain black? Leads to Ground.

Purple______: "A" (Accessory) Anything 12 volts would be applied to when key is in the ON or START position.

Purple/White: "C" (Choke) Activates Primer Solenoid when key is pushed in.

(Other members) Any comment on the Black/White wire scenario? I retired some years before this engine was manufactured and I'm not familiar with this wire color code.

"Do You have the old lock with screws (the one Joe referrs to) or the new one with pins? However the marking is as Joe describes, You may put black/yellow and Black/white to any 'M' pin."

Appreciate the jump in Mort. I'm not familiar with the ignition switch pin setup. Always willing to learn something new.

"Joe:
as an additional comment to this switch, introduced around 94 together with Deutz contacts, (no more Amphenol plugs) even has a built in emergency stop, eliminating the old safety switch. The safety lanyard is hooked straight on between key and lock, and if pulled key jumps mechanically to stop and cuts the engine. This system allows You to start and run the engine without the safety lanyard attached. Positive if the driver falls overboard with the lanyard, the crew may restart and pick him/her up."
