I am being given an old boat with an Aquamatic 80. So far I know that compression is down in #1 cylinder and the splined propshaft has a twist in the splines and yet still appears straight.
Is anyone still running these old units? I'm thinking the outdrive was always lightly loaded by having only 85 hp driving it.
Who is a good source for parts for the little 1.6 liter 4 banger? Am I nuts for thinking of restoring this 62 year old unit? I am retired with all the tools I ever owned.
