"hi guys,

just over 12 months ago I pulled the boat out of the water & re-antifouled both the hull & the leg. I used Jotun for both. The hull is looking really good with only some slime & occasional barnacle.

On the otherhand the leg is now covered with barnacles & mussels. In many places only the primer remains. Prior to applying the antifoul to the leg, I primed with the correct Jotun primer then applied 2 coats of non copper based antifoul to avoid any electrolys issues between the copper & aluminium.

Any recommendation for a long lasting antifoul for use on a VP sterndrive?

The boat doesn't get a lot of use - & I don't want to have to spend half a day scraping barnacles off the prop & from the cooling water inlets prior to getting underway.

Thanks"

"Ahh...... the perils of mooring!
Are you leaving the prescribed 1" to 1-1/2" space between the hull bottom paint and any drive componets, brackets, fittings, etc?
Hull bottom paints can be conductive and if near/touching, will create a problem! Depends on which type!"
