Anti Freeze

"The guy I bought my boat from suggested that once I drained the block of water - to pour some anti-freeze down the hoses into the block. With the block drained of all the water why would this need to be done?? Thinking better be safe than sorry - yes I've done this, but I don't understand why. Thanks."

Insurance! You can never be sure you've COMPLETELY drained the block. This way you can sleep with confidence. Also antifreeze has anti corrosive properties to further help protect your block.

I poured about a gallon of RV antifreeze in mine. Thats what my manual actually suggested.
