Another stuck steering cable 91b 120 hp

Our steering rod is stuck all

Our steering rod is stuck all the way to one side. Used a drift pin and hammer to try dislogged it. The end of steering rod does rotate. Gave it a good dozen raps. But its stuck in cylinder. Also how is the steering rod connected to the cable end.

"Louis, spray penetrating oil, keep whacking at it or maybe try some heat. Unfortunately with this size of motor (the weight) you don't really have the option of removing the entire tilt-tube. Besides, if the cable is rusted in the tube, the tube is probably well stuck in the motor bracket (makes you kinda wish you followed the yearly lubrication guidelines)..

The rod is an integral part of the cable end (one complete assembly)and comes out that way."

"Thanks Grahmam, I jacked the end of the steering back thru the cylinder.And it showed lots of corrosion. Haven't owed the boat very long(used).
Ream out cylinder and regreased. Working great."
