best i'v been able to tell the johnson/evinrude 9.5 made between 1964 and 1974 are the same motors so my question is am i wright about that and will parts inter change (t-stat cover)

They are basically the same 64 to 73.-----------The thermostat cover certainly was the same for the entire production run.-The later models 72 / 73 moved the reed valves to reduce crankcase volume.----------------Did your motor have the " anti vibration kit " installed to help with idling ??-----The factory had a kit for the 64/ 65 models.

I'm not sure if it dose or not it apears to have rubber motor mounts that let the power head move a little I noticed when I was taking whats left of the t-stat cover of but I'm not certian that it's the "antivibration kit". Thanks for the info on the parts I was pritty sure that parts were interchangable but I wanted to ask be for I bought something wouldn't work with my luck if there is an odd ball to be had I'll get it and my wife would be ever so proud of one more outboard leaning aginst the wall in the garage she dose not under stand the need for spare parts

when wives see a new outboard they are silently (hopefully silent) thinking of how much furniture or carpet they could buy with the money....got a new motor last fall...its gonna cost me for a wooden floor in the living room and hall this year...no doubt about it..
