Finally got my butt in gear and started working on an old 18 HP motor...sure I'll have questions in the future-but I'll first use the search function and see if I can learn a little.
Crappie are biting and I need to get out!

Right now I'm trying to identify the exact part numbers I need.I have the repair manul.but the pics in it are a little small. It appears to be the throttle cam assemby, the sensor that rides on the front cam on the underside of the flywheel-seems to control the timing as the throttle is advanced.Don't know what it looks like originally-but now there is a small rubber wheel with about 20 layers of duct tape around it to give it enough diameter to contact the cam-great missouri engineering.
It runs very rough ,especially at idle due to the lumps and softness of the "duct tape roller" :)

looks like it,just gotta disassemble to see if thats the only part I need.
Thanks from a former Duluth resident!
